Budget for Feb. 1, 2012 edition
Here's what the newsroom staff is working on for the Feb. 1, 2012 edition of the Brattleboro Reformer. Please note: Just because it appears on this budget, doesn't mean it will run in tomorrow's newspaper — some stories will be held to get complete information; some stories may be dropped completely. Stories might be held for space, or other timing considerations. Also, breaking stories may not appear on this budget.

Two days until live launch
While it may not look like to to some, I've been working on developing this blog for several months now. Toward the end of last year, with holidays, last minute staff vacations and new projects (the re-launched Friday paper and the ongoing project "tweaks") ... well, let's just say roll-out slowed to a crawl.
Well, no longer ... the blog is up and running, and set to go-live on Wednesday (Feb. 1). Readers will find daily budget posts and general talk about -- as local DJ Steve West likes to put it -- newspaperin'. Here's a space to directly communicate with the readers and explain decisions that are being made in the newsroom (or perhaps elsewhere in the company?), answer letters/e-mails in a public fashion (if the question and answer are of value to the community at large) ... and I'm sure many other topics of discussion I can't yet imagine.
Questions, comments, suggestions or concerns? Call me (802-254-2311 ext. 252) or send an e-mail (tderrico@reformer.com).
